Nineteen-year-old Lauren Hemp, who already has 32 appearances for Manchester City, has put pen to paper on a multi-year deal with the club.

“I’m really excited to be extending my contract with City,” Hemp told mancity.com. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and it was definitely an easy decision.

“Since I joined the Club, I’ve loved every minute and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

“I’ve improved a lot, especially with my confidence. I’ve gained a lot of that since getting a lot of gametime, scoring goals and creating chances. I hope to do that in the next couple of years with City.”

Manager Nick Cushing expressed his delight to secure Hemp’s services.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Lauren as a player in our squad for the future,” he said.

“It was imperative. I think she’s been exceptional this season; she’s really shown her offensive ability and she will get better.

“She knows she can be so much better. She has so much potential and we want to work with her.”
