Manchester City moved within three points of Barclays Women’s Super League leaders Manchester United after beating Reading 4-1.

The Royals had stunned City with a Sanne Troelsgaard goal after only 55 seconds, finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Chloe Kelly levelled from close range and Khadija Shaw completed the turnaround with 24 minutes played, nodding in Alex Greenwood’s corner.

Man City made it 3-1 just two minutes into the second half, Lauren Hemp sliding in to turn Kelly’s cross home.

Hemp hit the post with a half-volley but Steph Houghton made it 4-1 with a free kick.

Reading remain at the foot of the table, and have played a game more than the two sides immediately above them.
