London City Lionesses sign forward Isobel Goodwin from Sheffield United for whom she scored 15 goals in 19 league games last season.

Goodwin told londoncitylionesses.com: “the season ahead will be huge for London City and I really wanted to be a part of it.

“I’m hoping to score as many goals as I can for the team this season, helping us reach our collective target. From the first conversation I had with the club, it was very clear that the plan and vision for the future is very exciting. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

Head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur added: “Firstly, Isobel’s profile is one that we didn’t have amongst our forwards – she is a strong, athletic player, who likes to attack the space behind the defenders. It’s very good news that she has signed with us.

“Secondly, she is young, perfectly adapted to the project, and has the required qualities to become one of the best strikers in England – and we will work on that. She will develop with the team.

“Despite the fact that she is very young, she had a very good season last year and I’m very confident that she will be a great asset for the team.”
