Liverpool Ladies have today completed the signing of German goalkeeper Anke Preuss from Sunderland Ladies.

Twenty-five year old Preuss has also played for FCR 2001 Duisburg, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Frankfurt and Verona Calcio prior to her spell with the Black Cats.

On her move to Merseyside, Preuss said: “I am thrilled to be joining Liverpool Ladies and I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates. This was a fantastic opportunity for me and one that I could not turn down. The Club has real ambitions for the future and I am confident that I can develop my game whilst at the club.

“I really enjoyed my time with Sunderland Ladies but this now presents me with a new exciting challenge which I’m really looking forward to.”

Liverpool Ladies manager Neil Redfearn added: “I am delighted that we have managed to complete the signing of Anke. She is a top class goalkeeper who has proven her qualities in the FAWSL with Sunderland Ladies over the past two seasons.

“Anke is a top class shot stopper as well as being very good with her distribution, so she will suit our style of play perfectly as we look to play out from the back.”
