Hibernian may have lost out to Glasgow City again in the SWPL title race but they repeated last season’s cup double, by defeating them 3-0 in the Scottish Cup final at Livingston.
A first half of few chances heated up as Hibs’ Lisa Robertson forced a save from Lee Alexander and Abi Harrison was close to turning in an Emma Brownlie set-piece with a back-heel.
Then on half-time they made the breakthrough, as Siobhan Hunter knocked Brownlie’s corner back towards the net and Harrison scored the first domestic goal against City since 17th May.
Katey Turner threatened to double the lead on a couple of occasions but Alexander made a diving save and another effort found the side-netting.
Megan Foley shot wide of Jenna Fife’s far post was the closest City came to scoring and 8 minutes from time Hibernian got their second goal, Hunter firing in a 40-yard free-kick.
Rachel McLaughlin hit the post as Hibs went for a third and Rachel Small headed home from a Robertson cross to round off the win on 88 minutes.
