Glasgow City’s latest acquisition in the winter transfer window is defender Julia Molin from Norwegian side Avaldsnes.

Molin joins after previous spells in Italy with Sassoulo and Verona – where she was team captain – and also with AIK and Kristianstads in the Swedish top flight.

Commenting, Head Coach Scott Booth told glasgowcityfc.co.uk: “Julia is a player I have been interested in for a long time now. She defends incredibly well with her tenacious appetite to stop the opposition. Julia is a leader and her experience is another welcomed aspect of her game. That said, she is also excellent going forward.”

Molin said: “I’m happy to be joining a successful team like Glasgow and looking forward to working with the girls and the club. I hope that I can help out with my experience from playing abroad.”

Glasgow City resume their SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League campaign away to Celtic on Sunday 17 January.
