New Zealand easily won the Oceania Women’s Nations Cup Final with an 8-0 victory over Fiji to book their place at next year’s World Cup, as well as the Olympics.

Under Scottish manager Tom Sermanni, the Football Ferns had already thrashed Fiji 10-0 in a group game and it was not good news for the first-time finalists when they fell behind seconds into the game.

Rosie White got that early goal and Sarah Gregorious converted a penalty 5 minutes later.

Betsy Hassett and Meikayla Moore took the score to 4-0 at the break, with White getting her second 3 minutes after the restart.

Hassett and Gregorius then both doubled their tallies, before White completed a hat-trick at the end.

Papua New Guinea hit hosts New Caledonia 7-1 in the third place play off, Meagen Gunemba scoring four times, to finish joint top scorer at the finals with New Zealand’s Gregorious.
