The first Player and Manager of the Month awards for the 2019-20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season have been made.
Arsenal’s Dutch international midfielder Jill Roord clinched the Player of the Month honour for September.
Currently injured, she has been outscoring prolific compatriot – and POTM nominee – Vivianne Miedema in a couple of games, recording hat-tricks in the league wins over Reading (6-1) and West Ham (9-1).
Roord sustained a knee injury during the international break and returned to her club ahead of schedule.
Manager of the Month went to Brighton & Hove Albion’s Hope Powell.
Her side began the campaign with three points in a 2-0 victory against Birmingham City, before holding Manchester City to a goalless draw away from home.
However, they did then lost to Birmingham in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup on penalties.
