Reading FC Women’s Fara Williams has added an additional year to her contract, keeping her with the Royals until June 2021.
Williams was the side’s top goal-scorer last season and is currently holding that honour for the 2019-20 campaign, along with Lisa-Marie Utland, with 6 goals in all competitions thus far.
Manager Kelly Chambers awarded Williams with the vice-captaincy of the side before the 2019-20 season began and due to an injury to captain Natasha Harding, Williams has led the Royals out on several occasions this season.
The holder of an unprecedented 172 caps for the Lionesses and the most capped England player in history, Williams is next in action on Wednesday against her former club Arsenal in the knockout stages of the Continental Cup at Meadow Park, before Reading travel to another of her former clubs, Everton on Sunday.
