In the FA Girls’ Youth Cup 1st Round, Birmingham City and Stoke City progressed on penalties, Charlton Athletic edged a seven-goal thriller.

Birmingham City were pegged back at Bristol City before winning the shoot-out, Stoke City eventually got the better of hosts Teesside Sport from the spot.

Katy Watson and substitute Eve Parker scored to send Sunderland through 2-0 against Leeds United.

Sheffield United’s Ruby Clarke scored twice, Jess Reavill, Chene Muir and Amy Cotton once each in a 5-2 defeat of Durham.
