England drew 0-0 with Emma Hayes’ USA in an international friendly in front of over 28,000 at Wembley Stadium.

Mary Earps made a couple of saves to keep England on level terms at the break, diving to push away Alyssa Thompson’s effort in just the fifth minute, then getting down to deny Casey Krueger’s low strike.

Lindsey Horan had the ball in the net for the US very early in the second half but was flagged offside.

Yazmeen Ryan’s ball to Horan on the edge of the six-yard box was smuggled away by Leah Williamson, who was swiftly afterwards getting a header on target at the other end.

Handball was given against Greenwood from Ryan’s shot but the decision was overturned by the referee after being directed to the pitch-side screen.

Beth Mead had keeper Alyssa Naeher scrambling across her goal, while Williamson was there again to deal with a dangerous ball from Rose Lavelle.
