Conti Cup holders Arsenal provide the stiffest challenge yet for newcomers Manchester United, while FAWSL leaders Manchester City visit Chelsea in the first of the semi-finals this midweek.
FA Women’s Continental League Cup Semi-Finals
Wednesday 6th February
Chelsea v Manchester City (Kingsmeadow Stadium, 7.30pm) – live on FA WSL Facebook
Thursday 7th February
Arsenal v Manchester United (Boreham Wood FC, 7.30pm) – live on BT Sport 1
While Manchester United – fourth in the FA Women’s Championship – still have some battling to do in their promotion bid, they have already defeated four top tier teams in Brighton, Everton, Liverpool and West Ham.
Arsenal will provide a sterner test, with the Gunners well-placed in the FAWSL title race and also top scorers to date, as well as having been dominant in the Conti Cup with five trophies to their name.
Chelsea are six points behind an unbeaten Manchester City in the league and have scored considerably less goals after their run of early season 0-0 results, including the home game against Wednesday’s visitors.
City knocked out Chelsea 1-0 at the same stage and same venue last year with a Nadia Nadim goal, before losing the final to the Gunners, having twice previously lifted the trophy.
The final will take place on Saturday 23 February (12.15pm kick-off) at Sheffield United FC and will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1 and 4K UHD.
