Chelsea have signed Plymouth Argyle’s 19-year-old Welsh international goalkeeper Poppy Soper on a dual registration.

Soper has made 20 appearances so far this season for the FAWNL Southern Premier Division side and will remain available to play for Argyle, while training full-time with the reigning WSL champions.

Soper told Plymouth Argyle Women FC’s YouTube channel: “I have just been here training, doing what I can, and then all of a sudden Chelsea got in touch and invited me to train.”

Argyle manager Ryan Perks said: “Really excited for Poppy and to see where this opportunity can take her.”
