Charlton Athletic came from two down to draw 2-2 at Birmingham City in the Barclays Women’s Championship, Blackburn Rovers held Southampton.

Charlton fought back from two down to draw 2-2 at Birmingham City, as both sides missed a chance to go third. Jade Pennock gave City the lead at the break, Louise Quinn headed Christie Murray’s corner in off the post to double the advantage. But Keira Skeels halved the deficit and into the last dozen minutes, Melissa Johnson got the equaliser.
Bristol City stated six points clear at the top of the table and made the breakthrough against Durham on the stroke of halftime, when Abi Harrison’s flick-on turned into her own net by a Wildcats’ defender. Gracie Pearse doubled the lead before the hour, firing home after a corner broke to her on the edge of the box. Grace Clinton sealed the points with a header, after her initial volley was saved.
Second-placed London City Lionesses were three up over Lewes by the break, Sarah Ewens’ opener was followed up by Shanade Hopcroft direct from a corner, with Kyra Carusa getting the third. Ellie Mason got a consolation for the Rooks late on.
Third-placed Southampton were held to a goalless draw at St Mary’s by Blackburn Rovers.
Katy Watson fired Sunderland into a 25th-minute lead against Coventry United. After the break, Emily Scarr set up Abbey Joice to make it 2-0 and later also crossed for Brianna Westrup to score. The result pushed the Black Cats up two to ninth and left United eight points adrift.
Crystal Palace got the only goal of the game approaching the hour mark at Sheffield United, Annabel Blanchard playing in Coral-Jade Haines to slot home.
