Celtic defeated Rangers 2-0 in the Women’s Scottish Cup Final played in front of 10,446 fans at Hampden Park.

The first half almost passed without a clearcut opportunity on goal, until Celtic’s Shen Mengyu stole possession but shot wide of the fat post.

Celtic made the breakthrough in the 65th minute, Natasha Flint finishing on the turn from close range.

Within three minutes the lead was doubled from another flag-kick, Claire O’Riordan’s header dropping into the far corner of the net.

Substitute Laura Berry had a rare chance for Rangers but her chip failed to get over keeper Pamela Tajonar.

Berry did have the ball in the net in the dying minutes but a VAR check for offside ruled the goal out.
