Cardiff City Women complete treble with Bute Energy Wales Cup

Cardiff City Women beat Wrexham 2-0 in the Bute Energy Wales Cup Final in front of 1,734 at Rodney Parade.

Rhianne Oakley opened the scoring after 15 minutes from a ball forward by Emma Beynon, who later in the half saw her volley turned round the post by Del Morgan.

Wrexham’s Amber Lightfoot threatened a couple of times early in the second half, while Meg Bowen had a goal ruled out for the Bluebirds.

Rosie Hughes wasted a chance for Wrexham and with stoppage-time approaching, Beynon struck from 30 yards out to secure City the trophy.
