“We are eager to help her settle in and see the value she will add to our team for the rest of the season as we aim to climb the table.”

Smith signed for Gotham FC in 2022 and has won the NWSL Championship in November 2023. The USA international has also played for Western New York Flash, Washington Spirit, Newcastle Jets and OL Reign ns.

Meanwhile, Comfort Erhabor will join Hibernian for the remainder of the season, having signed her first professional contract with Albion this week.

Managing Director Zoe Johnson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Comfort to develop further as a young player.

“It’s an exciting time for her after just signing her first professional contract with the club this week and shows our commitment to developing her further as a goalkeeper.

“Hibernian are a good side and the opportunity for her to play in Scotland will be incredibly beneficial for her overall progression. The Scottish Women’s Premier League will be a testing environment but one that we know she will thrive in.”
