Newcastle United needed late goals to progress past Boldmere St Michaels in the FA Women’s National League Cup.

The Magpies had to come from behind late on to avoid an upset away to the Mikes, who led through Gabby Maia. But Cara Milne-Redhead levelled on 75 minutes and in added time, Bridget Galloway grabbed the winner.

Norwich City won after extra time at AFC Bournemouth, Rachel Lawrence with a 25-yard decider after which Sarah Quantrill protected the lead with a couple of great saves.

Cardiff City Ladies also fought back to progress in the Cup against Plymouth, Ellie Sargeant equalising before Cori Williams and a Chloe Lloyd penalty sent them through.

West Brom trailed twice at Liverpool Feds before eventually winning the tie with an 87th-minute Fran Orthodoxou long-range strike.

Nottingham Forest beat Wolves 2-0 in a heavyweight clash, Holly Manders with both goals including a penalty.

Taylor O’Leary’s last-minute shot from distance saw London Bees edge past Worthing, Portsmouth’s Emily Pitman hit a hat-trick in a 7-1 success at Moneyfields, Fylde got all their six goals at Notts County in the first half.
