CoinPoker’s Battle of Malta Online series has wrapped, and the final numbers are worth celebrating. Over 23 days, the platform paid out $35,120,885, sailing past its original $30 million guarantee, and along the way handed a life-changing result to more than a few players who took a shot at it.
A 23-Day Festival That Beat Its Own Guarantee
Battle of Malta Online ran from July 12 through August 3, and by the time it closed, 764 tournaments had drawn 528,237 entries, not counting satellites. That’s a huge amount of poker played in just over three weeks.
The final weekend also brought a milestone for the platform itself, with CoinPoker crossing 25,000 concurrent players for the first time ever.
Hemingway Takes Down the Biggest Prize of the Series
The series crowned three separate Main Event champions on its closing day. Hemingway came out on top of the $565 Main Event, beating a field of 4,778 players to win $250,000 from the tournament’s $2,546,674 prize pool, the largest of the entire festival.
That win also made Hemingway the top overall earner across the whole series, with total cashes reaching $304,061.90.
In the lower buy-in Main Events, MarianexBJ won the $55 Main Challenger for $50,000, while Syn took the $11 Main Crusader for $10,000 after outlasting the biggest field of the entire festival, 11,663 entries at that same buy-in level.
A Big Win in the CoinMillion Battle of Malta Edition
The Battle of Malta edition of the CoinMillion opened the whole series with a $1 million guarantee, and monc walked away with the title and $121,500. Four other finalists also picked up five-figure prizes of their own.
The regular CoinMillion is already back in action too. Its August Edition has reached Day 2, with a $120,155 top prize up for grabs and AgroVadim currently leading the way.
High Roller Results Worth Knowing About
The bigger buy-in events had plenty of standout moments as well. Giselle54 won the $5,200 High Roller for $68,244, just ahead of runner-up Lukabrate’s $45,612 finish.
pensefortement claimed the $1,500 CoinMasters Bitcoin High Roller for $235,000, picking up a gold-plated CoinMasters Bitcoin coin along with the cash. MystereEtBouleDeGomme also won The Iron Throne for $129,129, part of a strong run of High Roller results throughout the series.
100 Players Are Heading to Malta This Autumn
Beyond the prize money, CoinPoker awarded 100 live packages to the Battle of Malta Autumn Edition, each worth $2,500 and including a €600 Main Event ticket, accommodation, and a travel allowance for the live festival running October 27 to November 4.
Twenty-five packages came from the three online Main Events, and the other 75 went to winners of the multi-stage Battle of Malta Champion’s Trials promotion.
On top of the packages, 77 trophies were handed out across the series. Every winner gets a digital version for their CoinPoker Trophy Cabinet, and can either collect the physical trophy in person at the live Trophy Ceremony in Malta or have it shipped straight home.
What’s Next: The Global Online Poker Championship
CoinPoker isn’t taking a break after Battle of Malta. The Global Online Poker Championship begins August 23, bringing a $50 million guarantee and buy-ins for every kind of player, from $2.20 all the way up to $25,500.
The CoinMillion will make another appearance as part of that series too, running September 6 with a $215 buy-in and its usual $1 million guarantee.
And for anyone wanting a bit extra heading into the new series, CoinPoker’s 3-Bet Club membership launches August 17, just days before the GOPC gets underway.
