Everton safe after draw at Birmingham City

Everton were unable to make the breakthrough at relegation-threatened Birmingham City but the Toffees’ survival in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League is now assured.

Birmingham collected just a fifth point off the season and are seven points from safety with four games left.

Kenza Dali was twice denied early on by City keeper Emily Ramsey, who also tipped over an Izzy Christiansen shot from distance.

Toni Duggan latched on to a poor Louise Quinn back pass and rounded the goalkeeper, but then shot wide from the angle.

Libby Smith went close late om for the hosts and Lucy quinn saw her stoppage-time effort saved by Sandy MacIver.
