Another French Exam For Lionesses

England will travel to Valenciennes to play France at Stade du Hainaut on Friday 20 October (8pm BST KO).

The two teams last faced each other in this summer’s Euros, with England winning 1-0 thanks to a Jodie Taylor goal – the Lionesses’ first win over France in 43 years, says TheFA.com

England have since risen above France in the FIFA rankings, achieving an all-time high of third, while France are fourth.

England captain Steph Houghton said: “If we want to keep progressing as a team it’s crucial that we play matches like these and it doesn’t come much tougher than France away.

“It was a great feeling to finally beat France during the Euros but we need to do so on a more consistent basis.

“We’re really looking forward to getting out there and testing ourselves against one of the best teams in the world.”

England will continue their 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign later this autumn.

They face Bosnia & Herzegovina at Banks’s Stadium in Walsall on Friday 24 November (7.05pm KO) and Kazakhstan at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday 28 November (7.05pm KO).

Tickets for the games are on sale priced at just £1 each for children and concessions. An early bird adult ticket offer is available, priced £7.50, until Monday 25 September (full priced ticket is £10). Group booking and Charter Standard discounts also apply.

Tickets for both games can be bought via TheFA.com/Tickets.

England v Bosnia & Herzegovina tickets can also be purchased via 01992 651 414/416 and for England v Kazakhstan via 01206 755 161.
