Ahead of the upcoming FAWPL season, TNS have appointed a new manager in Andy Williams, following the departure of Pete Wilson at the end of 2016/2017.
TNS say their new boss arrives with a wealth of experience, as from 2008 through to 2012 he was Assistant Manager at Liverpool in the WSL.
A brief spell at Wrexham saw Williams manage the team in the Welsh Premier Women’s League, while Academy involvement with both Liverpool and Everton, as well as scouting for MK Dons, suggests TNS have a manager with some pedigree.
Vice-Chairman Ian Brazier told tnsfc.co.uk:
“We believe that we are at the beginning of exciting times for the club.
“We had our first team meeting on Wednesday and Andy set out his targets to the players. It will be very exciting times ahead for TNS Ladies, with promotion the target for this season, with the long-term goal being the FA Women’s Super League.”
Williams, who will be assisted by his son Alex, commented:
“On being appointed, new managers will often tell you how excited they are at the opportunity that they have inherited – this truly is the case for me here at TNS.
“I knew straight away when we started discussions that our ambitions and football philosophy were aligned, and I believe that my background and experience will help the club (and the first team) reach their objectives.
“Having now met the players we are all looking forward to getting started together on our new project.”
