It couldn’t be a more exciting end to The FA Women’s Super League season when Liverpool Ladies face Bristol Academy Women in the title decider, on Sunday 29th September at Halton Stadium (KO 2pm)

THE FA WOMEN’S SUPER LEAGUE TITLE DECIDER GOES TO THE WIRE
LIVERPOOL LADIES V BRISTOL ACADEMY WOMEN
MATCH LIVE ON BT SPORT
SUNDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2PM

The Reds currently sit top of the table on 33 points, with the Vixens only 2 points behind, meaning the champions of The FA WSL will be decided by this final game.

Both sides have had a fantastic season and will make history on Sunday when one side takes the title from Arsenal Ladies, who have come top for the last nine seasons. Liverpool has lead from the outset, remaining consistent throughout the season and going unbeaten in their last 6 matches. With 44 goals scored so far and 3 of the top goals scorers in their squad, they have displayed brilliance on the field and have already been rewarded with a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Bristol likewise has been outstanding throughout the season, faltering on only two games and losing narrowly both times. They made it to the final of The FA Women’s Cup in May and have also already been guaranteed a UEFA Women’s Champions League spot. Both teams will be going all out to try and secure the title and it is going to be a match not to be missed.

Liverpool Ladies manager Matt Beard commented: “It is a fantastic achievement that we are sitting top of the FAWSL going into the final game of the season and already qualified for the Champions League. We have been at the top of the league for the majority of the season so we don’t feel any pressure is on us at all. We will continue to play like we have all season and enjoy the game, the atmosphere and the occasion.”

Bristol Academy Women’s Manager Mark Sampson added: “Our story so far this season has been a fairy tale, now with the end in sight we want to give our story a happy ending. In Liverpool we face a massive challenge against a big opponent but we will go there to be positive, play our game and do our best. I am delighted the game is live on BT Sport because even though everyone thinks the title is Liverpool’s I have the feeling everyone watching bar Liverpool wants our fairy tale to have a happy ending.”

With tickets costing only £5 for an adult and £2.50 for children and concessions, the match offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting afternoon of top class women’s football at an affordable price. Liverpool FC season ticket holders can get free entry on the gate.
