Chelsea Women’s Pernille Harder has undergone surgery following a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Denmark.

Harder’s injury has been reviewed by the Chelsea medical team and the club said that ‘Following that review and further discussion with a specialist, Pernille is expected to be sidelined for a significant period.’

The attacking midfielder now begins a rehabilitation programme with support from the club’s medical team, as she looks to get back on the pitch for the Blues and also add to her 140+ caps and 70 goals for her country.

Meanwhile, Chelsea play Real Madrid in UEFA Women’s Champions League at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday 23 November, with kick-off at 8pm UK time and the game streamed live on DAZN YouTube.
