Cardiff City FC Women are keeping hold of top spot in the Genero Adran Premier for another week following a narrow win over Aberystwyth Town at Leckwith Stadium.

In a tight game, with Aberystwyth’s defence needing to be strong, Rhianne Oakley’s 23rd minute goal was enough to maintain the Bluebirds’ 100% record.
Cardiff Met and Swansea City remain hot on their heels, just three points behind. Met hosted Barry Town United and Erin Murray scored twice in two minutes to give the Archers the advantage. Barry’s Mackenzie Olden fired a return shot 10 minutes later (33’) to become the league top scorer on five after five games, but Evie Griffiths added a third for Met on the 51st minute to seal the points and to keep second spot a goal ahead of the Swans.
Swansea made the trip north to TNS and went into the lead after just five minutes, with Nia Rees getting her first league goal this season. Emma Beynon soon added a second, before TNS were offered a way back into the game when Shaunna Jenkins’ tackle in the box was ruled illegal and Beth Lewis converted the penalty. Katy Hosford added a third for Swansea just before full time to make sure the visitors took the three points.

Pontypridd United welcomed Abergavenny to USW with the visitors looking for their first points of the season. Jasmine Turner got her first Ponty goals, scoring after eight minutes and adding a second before the break, then turning provider in the second half for Olivia Francis to score. Abergavenny hit the bar and Ponty somehow put over from five yards out, but the Dragons were more clinical both in front of goal and in defence, claiming the points to leapfrog Barry and move into fifth spot in the table with, just one goal separating them and TNS in fourth.

Lili Jones’ stoppage-time penalty gave Wrexham the winner at Rhyl, Kirstie Kural’s second-minute header was enough to see Connah’s Quay edge Llandudno.
Sian Rees bagged a brace in Cascade’s 3-1 victory over Swansea University, Briton Ferry beat Pontardawe by the same scoreline aided by a Laura-May Walkley double.
