Preston North End enjoyed a 4-2 Women’s Regional League derby win against Blackpool, with all their four goals coming from one player.
EASTERN – Hatters top after derby win
Premier – Luton Town made it two wins from two with both goals at Bedford, AFC Sudbury’s Sophie Jeffery got the only goal at Bowers & Pitsea. Kings Lynn Town edged Royston Town 2-1 and Needham Market won 2-0 at Wroxham through efforts by Lois Balfour and Joanna Brawn.
1 North – Newmarket Town hit Haverhill Rovers 6-1 as Katie Spiers claimed a hat-trick, Yaxley Phoenix were 4-1 winners over Fakenham Town.
1 South – Lawford beat Hutton 5-2 to continue their winning start, East Bergholt United had a similar result at AFC Sudbury Reserves aided by Elena Nitsche’s treble. Barking’s Lindsay Sibbons got two of their three goals at Billericay Town Development, Wodson Park’s Kristina O’Connell was at the double in a 4-2 victory at Cheshunt.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Herne Bay’s Harriett Chapman hits six
Premier – Worthing, Fulham and Saltdean United all added to opening day wins, the former beating Dulwich Hamlet 4-2 with a Rebecca Bell brace, the Cottagers netted both goals at Enfield Town, the latter edging AFC Acorns thanks to Avilla Bergin and Georgia Bridges hitting the net. Ebbsfleet United ran out 4-0 winners at New London Lionesses, Millwall Lionesses beat Aylesford 4-2 and it finished 1-1 between Dartford and Sutton United.
1 North – Dorking and Dulwich Hamlet Reserves doubled their points tallies on match day two, Wanderers walloping Brentford 9-2 as Cherelle Khassel scored four times, the latter returning from Whyteleafe 6-3 victors. Leatherhead got four second-half goals after a 3-2 interval lead over Richmond Park as Eva Keen notched a hat-trick, Clapton won 2-0 at Denham United, Watford Development 3-1 at Sport London E Benfica.
1 South – Hastings, Ashford, Montpelier and Bromley each sit on six points after two games, the former sinking Newhaven 7-1. United’s Jodie Cain got a couple in a 3-2 result at Cray Valley, Villa beat Bexhill United 4-2 as Katherine Davyson struck twice, Bromley’s 3-0 scoreline against Steyning Town included a Mercedes Broomfield brace. Herne Bay’s Harriett Chapman hit six and Erin MacLennan three for a 9-3 success at Maidstone United, while Eastbourne United posted a 3-0 result over Welling United.
NORTH WEST – Madison Hadley nets all four for Preston
Premier – The midweek matches were all wo by the home sides, Cheadle Town Stingers staying on maximum points with a 2-0 defeat of Crewe Alexandra, likewise Salford City Lionesses with a similar score against West Didsbury & Chorlton and Tranmere Rovers who beat Mossley Hill Athletic 3-1. FC United of Manchester put four past Curzon Ashton, Fleetwood Town Wrens saw off Darwen 3-0.
1 North – Penwortham Town just edged a seven-goal game at Chorley Development, Accrington Stanley came away from Haslingden with a 3-2 win. Preston North End beat Blackpool 4-2 with all their goals coming from Madison Hadley, Sir Tom Finney pipped Morecambe 3-2 after trailing at the break, Penrith and Carlisle United drew 0-0.
1 South – Current top three, Chester, Bury and Warrington were all unable to make it three straight wins, the first two drawing 1-1 and Wolves sharing six goals at Hindley. Sunday also saw a 2-2 tie between Altrincham and BRNESC, while midweek results were; BRNESC 3-2 Alder, Bury 4-0 Wythenshawe Amateurs, Northwich Vixens 2-1 Altrincham, Poulton Vics 3-6 Chester, Warrington Wolves 3-1 Hindley.
