ROAD TO EUROPE with Cardiff Met LFC

Follow the training travails of the Cardiff Met girls, with Robyn P, as they prep for their UWCL action at the start of August…

I promised a more upbeat, optimistic blog this time and after the announcement of the stadiums we’ll be playing in and the 4* hotel we’ll be staying in, everybody is as happy as Rick Waller at an all you can eat buffet.

This week has been our busiest so far with the 3rd Years graduating – I don’t know how some of them managed it, if I’m honest.

We also had our first two friendlies against a boys’ team. It is at this point I would like to retract my previous comment about not pulling this summer, as Emily Allen was asked to swap shirts numerous times and our social media sites have never seen so much action… It has given ‘friendlies’ a whole other meaning!

Other fantastic news includes the arrival of some rather dodgy garments, courtesy of our coach Kerry Harris who I’m sure is either half mole or needs to pop to Specsavers if she thinks maroon and navy compliment each other. Thank god we’re sassy.

Pool recovery still remains the crowd favourite.

However, if someone could tell Chloe O’Connor that wearing a white sports bra is not a good idea and when we tell you it hasn’t gone ‘see-through’ we are lying.

Things to note this week:

– 3G burns (see photo)

– We all have ankles made of chocolate

– 3 weeks to go
