York Pick Up North Riding Cup On Pens

A close game that was decided by penalties saw York City have the better of a goalless first half.

City went close after 8 minutes as Ellie Harding’s lob went over keeper Steph Barraclough and the Boro crossbar.

The Boro keeper came off best as City’s Jas Whitwell had a great one-on-one chance with Ellie Harding coming close again on 38 minutes as her chipped shot went just wide of the Boro goal post.

During an even second half, Boro’s Savanna Robson and York’s Nat Eustance both shot wide of the goals within a minute but it finished 0-0, with York the victors of the penalty shoot-out by three goals to two.
