Clare Shine forced a couple of great saves from the Aberdeen keeper and Lauren McMurchie hit the woodwork, as Glasgow City were left frustrated at the break. Shine did however break the deadlock in the second half from a Keeva Keenan cross.
Hibernian stay just 2 points behind the leaders following their 3-0 result over Forfar Farmington. Abi Harrison headed in Rachel McLauchlan cross on 13 minutes and doubled the lead 3 minutes into the second half. Harrison then completed her hat-trick midway through the second half.
Third-placed Celtic saw off Stirling University by two goals to nil but had to wait nearly an hour to open the scoring. Suzanne Mulvey slid the ball into the net from close range following Alex Middleton’s cross and Courtney Whyte got the second via a corner on 80 minutes.
Spartans are 6 points ahead of Rangers in fifth, after edging them out 1-0. A long range strike from Louise Mason flews over Rangers keeper Claire Johnstone after 67 minutes.
Glasgow Girls won the top of the table clash with Hamilton Academical 2-1 to replace the Accies at the SWPL 2 summit. Chloe Docherty’s goal 6 minutes after the restart was cancelled out on 67 minutes but Samantha McManus got an 85th-minute winner.
Hearts moved into second spot with a 7-1 victory at Queen’s Park.
Hutchison Vale won the mid-table battle at Jeanfield Swifts to go 6 points ahead of their hosts. Ashley Fish and Hume netted for Vale in the first half, Swifts pulling one back. Fish got two more after the interval to complete her treble, with the visitors then getting a second goal.
Inverness are off the foot of the league following their first win, a 2-1 result at home to Buchan.
