Liverpool 2-0 Reading
Liverpool went third with a 2-0 defeat of Reading, as the Royals slipped to eighth spot and still await their first victory in WSL 1.
Emma Follis hit the Reds’ crossbar before Tash Harding slid the ball past Mary Earps to open the scoring on 17 minutes.
The lead was doubled before the half-hour mark, as Caroline Weir played in Laura Coombs to score.
Siobhan Chamberlain protected Liverpool’s lead as she punched away a Jade Boho-Sayo strike and after the break, thwarted Follis with a point-blank save and then turned a Amber Stobbs’ effort onto the post.
Sunderland 4-0 Doncaster Rovers Belles
Sunderland won the bottom of the table clash with Doncaster 4-0, the Belles having Leandra Little sent off in the first half.
Little brought down Beth Mead on the edge of the box midway through the half and was shown a red card and the hosts took the lead about 10 minutes later, as Mead turned in Maddie Hill’s ball to the hear post.
Four minutes later and it was 2-0, a corner from Lucy Staniforth was headed home by Hayley Sharp.
Shortly before the break, Mead controlled the ball outside the area and turned to bend the ball into the bottom corner.
Sunderland lost Mead after she was stretchered off following a bad fall but they still got a fourth goal, Brooke Chaplen breaking through to fire home.
Bristol City 2-1 Millwall Lionesses
Bristol City again went level on points with WSL 2 leaders Yeovil, following a narrow 2-1 result over Millwall.
The Vixens went ahead on 41 minutes, Jodie Brett cutting through the Lionesses’ defence to square to Millie Farrow for a fine finish.
But the visitors made a swift reply as Ashlee Hincks’ cross slipped through the hands of Caitlin Leach.
City got the winner on 57 minutes, Claire Emslie cutting in to turn the ball past keeper Sarah Quantrill.
