The weekend’s women’s friendly internationals featured a fightback by Nigeria to draw 3-3 with Portugal.

Portugal twice held a two-goal advantage over Nigeria but a 95th-minute equaliser gave the Super Falcons a draw. Chidinma Okeke put through her own net and Carole Costa also struck before Michelle Alozie pulled a goal back on half-time and although Tema Encarnacao then made it 3-1, a Diana Gomes own-goal and very late Rasheedat Ajibade effort saw the game end 3-3.

Jassina Blom gave Belgium a ninth-minute lead in Luxembourg but it proved to be a narrow win for the Red Flames, with that the only goal.

The USA made a flying start in their 4-0 win over Jamaica, Carli Lloyd netting in the first minute and Lindsay Horan converting a seventh-minute penalty. Margaret Purce got a third midway through the half but it wasn’t until second-half stoppage-time that Alex Morgan completed the  scoring.

Arsenal’s Mana Iwabuchi gave Japan a half-time lead against Mexico, on the way to a 5-1 win.
