Cartwright joins Leicester as they return to the Premier League Northern Division for the first time in 4 years after promotion last season.
Leicester believe that Lauren will bring a different dimension to their team, as well as adding strength-in-depth in numerous attacking positions.
Cartwright commented; “I’m excited to have signed for Leicester and I’m looking forward to the season ahead. As soon as I spoke to Jonathan [Morgan] and took part in training, I felt the family vibe, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of.”
“I want to prove that we are not just in the league to make up numbers and we want to be challenging at the top. With the quality of players that we have and the cohesiveness of the team, I believe we can push on.
Manager Jonathan Morgan added; “When we heard that Lauren was available from Doncaster Belles, we wanted to act swiftly to secure her services. We knew that there was interest for her from others in our league and she is someone that we didn’t want to go elsewhere. Lauren will add a lot of power going forward and she’s always looking to run into the space behind and create goal-scoring opportunities.
“Lauren will surely be a great addition to the first team set-up and I’m delighted to again sign another player with Super League experience, to help push us on this season and challenge with the best.”
