Allan Smith (Head Coach) and Vicki Paterson (Assistant Coach) stepped down on 1st July after 3 ½ years in charge of the Scottish Premier League side and the Dons’ new management team will be Stefan Laird (Head Coach), Kevin Buchan (Assistant Coach) and Kevin Stewart (1st Team Coach), contracted for 2 ½ years with an option of a further 12 months.
All were previously involved in the club’s U-20s, with Kevin Stewart formally goalkeeping coach now working closely alongside Laird and Buchan as assistant coach.
The Dons believe the young talented coaches will bring a new, fresh, dynamic and ambitious approach to the side, with their management team also enhanced with current coaches David Knox being retained as Goalkeeping Coach. plus the additions of Vaneta Fernandes as team physiotherapist and Ian McEwan as Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Stefan Laird said; “I am delighted to make the transition from our 20s to take charge of the first team. We have a young exciting squad with tremendous quality and an exceptional work ethic.
“I look forward to leading the club forward in this exciting new phase of development. We look forward to the second half the season to improve on our current position and make significant progress that will carry us into next season.”
