Wednesday 3rd August
FA WSL 1
Reading 1-2 Manchester City (Att: 592)

The deadlock at Adama Park was broken 7 minutes short of half time, when a Nikita Parris pull back saw Izzy Christiansen mark her 50th appearance for Man City with a calm headed finish.

But the points were not safe until the 80th minute, when Reading failed to clear a corner, and substitute Toni Duggan thumped home first-time from the edge of the box into the top corner.

There was still time for Reading to grab a consolation goal as Parris clipped Emma Folis in the area, and Lauren Bruton dispatched the spot-kick into the bottom left-hand corner.
