UWCL Q/F And S/F Draws Made

With only eight sides remaining in Europe’s premier competition for domestic women’s teams, there was always going to be a clutch of exciting and tough ties. The only British survivors in the draw, 2016 WSL Champions Manchester City Women, will face Fortuna in a second trip to Denmark in successive rounds, after their recent two-legged success against Brondby in the Rd of 16.

Should Nick Cushing’s side beat Fortuna over two ties, then they face the winner of the crunch match in the quarter-finals, basically a re-match of last season’s UWCL Final as current UWCL winners and French Champions Lyon have been drawn against their old adversaries, two-time UWCL winners Wolfsburg, from Germany.

In the other equally interesting match-ups, Swedish side Rosengård (which features English interest in Anita Asante) face Barcelona, while Frauen-Bundesliga title holders Bayern Munich will play against French League runners-up PSG. The winner of each tie will meet in the semi-finals, for a place in the prestigious final in Cardiff City’s Stadium on 1st June.

Provisional dates for games are given below, with exact dates and times to be decided in the coming days. Team listed first will play at home first, over the two-legged ties.
