Lucy Loomes Back With Bees

London Bees have signed former player Lucy Loomes for the upcoming FA WSL Spring Series, which starts for them at the Hive Stadium on the 11th February against Brighton Hove & Albion.

The Bees say that Lucy Loomes began with them in 2014 as a player for the development and then first team squads, before departing for Millwall Lionesses in the 2016 WSL 2 season. Last year, Loomes scored three goals for Millwall and was called up to the England U-19 squad for the La Manga Tournament.

Head coach David Edmondson commented that she is a “talented attacking player with the ability to score and create them for others,” and is excited by the prospect of Loomes, Paula Howells, Jo Wilson, Evie Clarke and Ashleigh Goddard working together in the front third of the pitch.

Loomes remarked that the London Bees organization has completely changed and the Hive Stadium is better than ever with the new Pecking Order restaurant and finished stands. While she started to play for the London Bees at the age of 16, she can now “hardly recognize the club.”

Throughout pre-season, she has found it very easy to settle in with her first professional club and commented that everyone is absolutely “buzzing for the first game of the year” against her former club, Millwall Lionesses, in the FA Cup on 5th February.

Loomes has the honour of scoring the first-ever goal London Bees goal in the WSL 2 in 2014.
