‘Corinne Signing A Huge Boost’

Yeovil Town report that new signing, Corinne Yorston, was involved in her first training session with her new club on Sunday and Chairman Steve Allinson was on hand to meet and greet her at the Bucklers Mead Leisure Centre training venue.

After her first session, Yorston tweeted with ‘A good first session with @YeovilLadiesFC . . Was great to meet the girls and get onto the training pitch with them! Feels good to be back.’

Chairman Steve Allinson, who also undertakes the role of Director of Football, was pleased to meet Yorston and said “Corinne signing for the club is a huge boost to us, and reflects the ambition that we have for the forthcoming season. Her enthusiasm for the challenges ahead immediately came over as we talked and I would like to wish her every success with us and thank her for agreeing to sign for us, when there were several WSL1 clubs also very keen to secure her services.”

“My thanks to our first team manager Jamie Sherwood for all his hard work behind the scenes to make this move happen. There is no doubt that this is a very exciting time to be part of Yeovil Town Ladies Football Club.”

The preparation for the Ladies 3rd Round FA Womens Cup game is going well and the session on Sunday, which was led by UEFA A student and assistant manager Michelle Yeowell, involved a lot of fitness work, ball work and an 11v11 training game.

Speaking after the session, Sherwood’s assistant Yeowell said “It was great to lead my first coaching session with the squad and meet the new players. It was evident that the players had been working hard during the off season on their fitness.”

“All the players know our targets and ambitions for this season and all worked extremely hard during the session, as we prepare for our first competitive game in two weeks time.”

“After the fitness work it was great to see the players play in an 11v11 game, as some of the players haven’t played a game since last season.”

“We have a good balance in the squad with experience, youth and talent only strengthened by the latest signing of Corinne”
