Hampton Clinch Title Against Rivals

Hampton and Richmond Borough goalkeeper, Emma Marlow, tells us of her team’s title-deciding win on Sunday March 8th.

On Sunday 8th March we beat Chobham Burymead to win the Greater London Women’s Football League Division 2 South with two games remaining.

Only needing a point, we went out on Sunday knowing that we all needed to play our best game possible so that we could win the league against our rivals and on home soil!

Every player worked their socks off during the game, Louise Clarke got the only goal with a thunder of a volley from a Katie Foster corner.

Captain Lisa Traynor took us to victory with some fantastic defending, some great blocks and an all-round solid performance.

Manager Leah Ambridge said “This is an unbelievable achievement for my ladies team. I am proud of every single one of them, they are my heroes. It’s been a great season and with cup games remaining our season is certainly not over yet! ”

With two cup quarter-finals coming up, it’s still all to play for and we will certainly be looking for another trophy to add to the collection this season!
