Charlton Athletic have signed goalkeeper Shanell Salgado from FA Women’s Championship and local rivals Crystal Palace ahead of their opening game of the season.

Salgado is looking forward to life with the Addicks, telling cafcwomen.co.uk:

“It’s very exciting, I’ve looked for a club this season to aim for higher goals and objectives. For me as well as a player I want to reach the highest I possibly can and I think Charlton are really trying to finish top this season coming and that’s something I’m excited to be part of. “

Salgado made her FAWC debut for Palace last October after making the step up from AFC Wimbledon.

Charlton face Lewes in their first league fixture on Sunday 25 August, 1pm kick-off at their home ground: VCD Athletic in Crayford.
