Tuesday’s FA Women’s National league fixtures brought a breakthrough win for MK Dons, stunning second-half show from West Brom and a defeat of table-topping Chester le Street by Newcastle United.

MK Dons got their first ever points in the Southern Premier at the fourth attempt with a 3-1 victory away to former WSL 2 side Oxford United.
The visitors made a perfect start as Leah Cudone opened the scoring from 20 yards with only 4 minutes played.
It was 2-0 when Alice Hughes headed home from Ellen Martin’s free kick into the box.
Another Martin set piece brought about the third goal on 25 minutes, her corner played short for Leanna Doyle to deliver and Hughes was there again to nod the ball into the net.
Oxford were denied a goal back temporarily by the post but reduced the arrears after 31 minutes when Kerry Walklett’s cross forced an own-goal.
The hosts had an ideal opportunity to put pressure on the Dons with a penalty 2 minutes into the second half but Sophie Shults saved it.
West Brom replaced rivals Wolves as Midlands Division 1 leaders after thrashing Solihull Moors 8-0, with all eight goals extraordinarily coming in the second half.
Keeley Davies led the way with a four-goal haul in a clinical performance from the Baggies in the last 45 minutes.
There was also a goal each for Fran Orthodoxou, Rachael Howard, Gabbie Reid and Natalie Murray.
Newcastle United became the first side to take points of Northern Division 1 leaders Chester le Street, defeating them 1-0 away to join them and three other sides on six points.
After a goalless first half, Newcastle goalkeeper Claudia Moan had to make a couple of quick saves around the hour mark.
The deadlock was broken at the other end though with 16 minutes to go, with Jess Foster the scorer from a Megan McKenzie delivery.
Steph Ord almost sealed the win 10 minutes later but her header off a corner came back off the underside of the bar.
