Four midweek fixtures in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League brought 3-0 wins for Abergavenny and Rhyl, while Cyncoed held champions Cardiff Met and Swansea City rescued a point at Cardiff City FC.

A top four place was all but secured by Abergavenny with their Wednesday evening 3-0 win at Caldicot Town. Lauren Boyd and Lyndsey Davies got first-half goals and Maxine Mudge later completed the scoring.

The same night saw Rhyl send Caernarfon Town to a 3-0 defeat to keep up hopes of taking seventh spot. Anna Jones’ opener was added to by Becca Bannister on half-time, with Rachael Nattrass netting the third midway through the second half.

Neighbours Cyncoed and Cardiff Met finished all square at 1-1 on Thursday, with the league winners needing a penalty to pick up a point. Cyncoed were ahead at the break through Grace Thomas but Stacey Ayling replied from a spot-kick just after the hour mark.
