Germany And Spain In U-17 Euro Final

Germany, who last year reclaimed the title from Spain, will meet the same opposition again at Sunday’s final in Pilsen, which is live on Eurosport at 5.30pm (UK time).

The reigning champions had difficulty in getting past Norway in the semi-finals though, training to an early Olaug Tvedten goal, they were grateful to the post for keeping out an effort from Jenny Kristine Røsholm Olsen.

Sydney Lohmann headed in a second-half equaliser, which led to the trial of a new-style penalty shoot-out, whereby teams take two spot-kicks in a row, other than the initial one.

Germany uncharateristically failed in all their first three efforts but netted the next three for victory in sudden-death.

Spain were on their way to a seventh final after Carla Piqueras Bautista won and converted a fifth-minute penalty against the Netherlands.

Claudia Pina then showed strength to hold off two defenders and round keeper Daphne van Domselaar to make it 2-0.
