SSE Women's FA Cup Final Set For Record Crowd

With less than a week to go until Manchester City and Birmingham City do battle, sales have already exceeded the 32,912 that saw Arsenal beat Chelsea 12 months ago and the crowd of 30,710 that witnessed the Blues beat Notts County in 2015 in the first Women’s FA Cup Final to be staged at Wembley.

The FA’s director of football participation and development Kelly Simmons said: “The SSE Women’s FA Cup is another substantial proof point of the growth of the women’s game in this country.

“The competition continues to go from strength to strength and that will be demonstrated with another record crowd at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 13 May.

“This year’s Final is set to be a fantastic occasion and we’d urge anyone without plans to book tickets in advance and be part of history.”

Manchester City, their team brimming with England internationals, are the reigning FA Women’s Super League 1 champions and FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup holders, but they have never before reached the FA Cup Final.

Birmingham though, will be looking to call on the spirit of the 2012 side that lifted the FA Cup after defeating Chelsea on penalties, following a thrilling 2-2 draw after extra time at Ashton Gate.

To be part of a landmark day tickets can still be purchased via TheFA.com/Tickets or by calling 0844 826 2010.

Children can attend the Final for free thanks to The FA’s partnership with SSE.

Adult tickets are priced at £15 and group booking and Charter Standard discounts apply.
