Buckland Athletic Ladies Coast Through In #SSEWFACup

Buckland Athletic completed the line-up for the SSE Women’s FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round after thrashing Exeter City 9-2 in their weather-delayed tie.

Although both Devon sides compete in the South West Premier this season, Buckland were promoted last term as Western Division champions, while the Grecians were relegated from the FAWPL.

Buckland were 3-0 up at half-time but Laura Gough and Kirsty Caunter both went on to hit hat-tricks for the hosts, Hayley Chamberlain also getting on the score-sheet.

Abigail Meyer and Emily Hannaford came of the bench to add one each, before Exeter got some consolation with goals by Kate Finch and Danielle Skinner.

Buckland now face another all-Devon clash in this Sunday’s tie ,when they travel to Marine Academy Plymouth, who were South West League runners-up last season.
