Full back Ylinn Tennebo has signed for West Ham United from Toppserien side Valerenga.
And the 26-year-old revealed that there’s a special reason that she is so excited to sign for the club.
“It feels amazing to be joining West Ham United,” she said in quotes circulated to the media.
“It’s a really special moment for me and my family as my grandfather, who sadly passed away in 2008, was a big West Ham fan. I wish he could be here to see this.
“My dream was to play in England – I can’t wait to play in the WSL. I have already played some of the teams in the Champions League, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing these kind of teams every weekend.
“I’ve won a lot in my career so far and I hope I can bring my winning mentality to the team. I will give everything for the club and I’m so excited to get started.”

Ylinn Tennebo: her career so far
She has agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract in east London and will wear shirt number 15.
Tennebo can play on both sides of defence, and has won back-to-back league titles with Valerenga in 2023 and 2024 and the Norwegian Women’s Cup in 2021, as well as playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
She has also played for Tornado Måløy, Kaupanger and Avaldsnes, and has international recognition for Norway at under-16, under-17 and under-23 level.
