Bunny Shaw is enjoying an unstoppable campaign for Manchester City and the Jamaican striker is on track to break all sorts of WSL records.
Shaw already has 12 goals this season and she could be on track to break the single-season record for goals.
Will Bunny Shaw break WSL goal record?
Having already scored 12 goals in 12 games this season, Bunny Shaw is well on the way to a third golden boot.
Shaw has won the award in the past two consecutive seasons and not even injury has stopped the striker.
Last year the Jamaican managed 12 goals in 14 games as she shared the golden boot with Arsenal’s Alessia Russo.

Since signing for Manchester City in 2021, Bunny Shaw has been a revelation in the WSL.
In her first year Shaw netted nine goals in nine games and it was clear from the start that she would go down as a WSL icon one day.
During her second season the striker was unlucky to not win the golden boot, as Rachel Daly recorded 22 goals in as many appearances for Aston Villa.
Shaw did win her first award one year later. City finished second to Chelsea in the league with their highest points tally largely down to their forward’s 21 WSL goals.
Last season City’s star striker struggled for fitness but she still managed to retain her golden boot in a low scoring campaign.
With 12 goals in just 14 games Shaw shared the golden boot with Alessia Russo. Arsenal’s striker scored 12 in 21 games – taking seven more to score as many as her counterpart.
Shaw recently reached 100 goals for City, becoming the first player in club history to achieve the feat.

What is the single-season goal record in the WSL?
Two players share the record for most goals in a single WSL season.
Vivianne Miedema managed 22 goals in 2019 and Rachel Daly repeated the feat in the 2022/23 campaign. Miedema managed her record in two less games, making her achievement slightly more impressive.
Shaw has come close to the record before, twice reaching 20 goals in a single season.
This year could be the year for Jamaica’s captain though. With 12 goals already to her name, Shaw needs 11 in 10 games to break the single-season goalscoring record.
After ending 2025 as December player of the month, Shaw kicked off her 2026 with an assist against Everton as Manchester City won 2-0.
The striker will need to net more than one in some games this year if she is to reach the record, but that is something she has already done three times this season.
