Brighton have reportedly rejected three bids for Fran Kirby as they fight off interest from Juventus for the former England international.

Fran Kirby ‘open’ to Juventus move

Italian reporter Mauro Munno has claimed that Fran Kirby has given the green light for a move to Juventus from Brighton.

However, Brighton are said to have rejected three bids as they see Kirby as “non-transferable” and “irreplaceable”.

Reports that Juventus had expressed interest in Kirby were revealed over the weekend.

Juventus are desperate to sign a high-profile attacking player after their goalscoring woes in Italy this season.

The Italian giants are second in the league behind Roma, but have only scored 10 goals in nine games. This is lower than six of the other 11 teams in the Women’s Serie A.

This is the main factor as to why they are five points behind Roma, as they do hold the best defensive record in the league.

Although Kirby, now 32, has seen her goalscoring numbers go down this season, Juventus still believe she would help their attack get firing in the second-half of the campaign.

Why Juventus are interested in Kirby

Kirby has enjoyed a solid season for Brighton, even if her scoring numbers are some way off her best days at Chelsea.

During her eight seasons with Chelsea, she scored 105 goals in 192 appearances.

Her most prolific campaign was in 2020-21, where she scored 25 goals and provided 13 assists in 31 appearances.

Since joining Brighton in the summer of 2024, she has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 30 appearances.

Despite the reduction in goals, Kirby is still a vital asset in Brighton’s attack, starting eight out of her 10 WSL appearances this campaign.

Her experience would be an asset for a Juventus side who are hopeful of mounting a comeback in Italy and are also due to face Wolfsburg in a difficult Champions League playoff clash.

Brighton are desperate to keep Kirby

It is no surprise that Brighton reportedly see Kirby as “irreplaceable” as the former England international would be tough to replace during the January transfer window.

The Seagulls have already been dented in attack by Michelle Agyemang’s ACL injury, which will keep the striker on loan from Arsenal out until the end of the season.

Brighton have signed midfielder Olaug Tvedten and have been linked with Nigerian striker Joy Omewa.

Keeping Kirby, though, could prove crucial in Brighton’s fight to maintain their top-half finish in the WSL from last season.
