Emily Fox has been joined by Chelsea pair Catarina Macario and Alyssa Thompson on the shortlist for the Female Player of the Year award.

Arsenal full-back Fox helped the Gunners win the Champions League and was a regular for the USWNT, who won 12 out of their 15 matches this season.

Fox could soon get competition from Smilla Holmberg, who has been linked with the Gunners.

Chelsea forward Macario leads the USWNT with seven goals and two assists in 2025. For the WSL champions, she has two goals and two assists in all competitions this season.

Alyssa Thompson joined Chelsea in the summer from Angel City and scored goals in recent draws with Arsenal and Liverpool. She has consistently played for the United States this year, scoring two goals and providing one assist for the national team.

The 21-year-old won the WSL Goal of the Month award for November after her brilliant strike against Arsenal.

The WSL trio will compete for the award against Portland Thorns midfielder Sam Coffey and Gotham FC’s Rose Lavelle.
