Everton vs Tottenham preview

Both of these teams kicked off their WSL campaign with a win last weekend, but it was Everton’s 4-1 victory that was turning heads.

Starting their season with a Merseyside derby was expected to be no easy feat but the Toffees certainly made it look easy.

A hat-trick from Ornella Vignola and one from Katja Snoeijs sunk Liverpool on opening day and Everton couldn’t have done much more at Anfield as they maintained their 100% record at the ground.

Tottenham also won in a local derby with a dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham in London.

Bethany England was the only goalscorer in the win and it wasn’t until the 86th minute that Tottenham took the lead from the penalty spot.

While both teams will be buoyed by their wins, Everton could hold the advantage on Sunday in their first game at Goodison Park this season.

Everton vs Tottenham team news

There was no new injury concerns for Everton boss Brian Sorensen to worry about following the Merseyide derby.

The Toffees could name an unchanged lineup for Sunday’s game with last week’s hat-trick hero Ornella Vignola likely to lead the line once more.

Cathinka Tandberg joined Spurs from Hoffenheim in the week and could make her debut off the bench this week.

Predicted lineups

Everton: Brosnan; Pacheco, Fernandez, Ishikawa, Robinson; Hayashi, Wheeler, Ladd, Vignola, Snoeijs, Momiki.

Tottenham: Kop; Hunt, Koga, Summanen, Rybrink, Dennis; Spence, Holdt, Nilden; England, Naz.

Everton vs Tottenham prediction

The form between these teams is very mixed but Everton just hold the better record in the head to head.

Last season the Toffees won one and drew the other against Spurs. We think another draw could be likely between two teams that started their campaign with a win.

Prediction: Everton 2-2 Tottenham
