The new women’s UEFA club rankings have been released and Arsenal are down in sixth despite winning last season’s Champions League.
Stina Blackstenius scored the only goal as Arsenal beat Barcelona win the trophy for the first time back in May.
However, due to the way the women’s club coefficients are calculated, the Gunners have more work to do to climb to the top of the list.
Arsenal only moved up one place in the rankings after switching places with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners’ success over Spanish opposition was followed by England prevailing against Spain in the Euro 2025 final.
Betting sites have made the Lionesses second-favourites behind Spain to win the tournament again in four year’s time.
Barcelona remain top of UEFA club rankings for the fourth year in a row
Despite losing to Arsenal in the Champions League final, Barcelona remain top of the women’s UEFA club rankings for the fourth straight year.
Barcelona remain top due to their consistent performances in the Champions League over the last four years.
The Spanish side reached the last four finals, winning twice in 2023 and 2024 against VfL Wolfsburg and Lyon, and losing to the French side in 2022.
Lyon, who topped the rankings last in 2021-22, are second in the list ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Chelsea are third after being knocked out in the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the past three seasons.
Rounding off the top five are German sides Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg.

Where do English clubs place in women’s UEFA club rankings?
Chelsea and Arsenal are the only English sides in the top 10 of the Women’s UEFA club rankings in third and sixth place.
There are only two other Women’s Super League clubs who make the list.
Manchester City are 13th, after failing to score ranking points in the 2023-24 season.
Their local rivals, Manchester United, are 29th, but only have three ranking points accrued over the past four seasons.
That compares to Barcelona at the top of the list who have a massive 102.
How are the UEFA club rankings calculated?
UEFA calculates the coefficient of each based on their performances in Europe across five seasons.
The latest rankings also include the 2025-26 season which is yet to properly get underway, although qualifying games in the Champions League have started.
Clubs are awarded two points for a win and one point for a draw. Those points are halved if it took part in the qualifying rounds, and there are no points handed out for a defeat.
There are also bonus points for reaching the latter stages of the competition and participating in the league phase.
